BIO
My Story
As someone curious about the mathematical and scientific aspects of life, I decided to pursue dual majors in Chemical Engineering and Biological Sciences. After a brief stint as a Java developer, I joined Indian Institute of Science Education and Research as a graduate student to pursue my Ph.D. in Biological Sciences. I am currently working in the Kamat Lab.

MY HOBBIES
Some non-academic interests that I pursue...
SPORTS
I was a member of the BITS Pilani Squash team during my time there, having led the team to a gold medal and a silver medal at the BITS Open Sports Meet (BOSM) 2016 and 2017
I've been a member of the IISER Pune Badminton team since I joined the institute and my love for the sport is growing as I play it more and more... Recently I won a gold and bronze medal in mixed doubles and mens doubles in the Inter Institute Sports Meet (IISM) 2024
Apart from these sports, I also play table tennis, volleyball, basketball, and football at a moderate skill level.
GAMING (E-SPORTS)
I'm a semi-professional Age of Empires II Player and have been in the top 150 players of the world and am ranked #2 in India. Since starting my Ph.D., I've invested less time in improving my ELO (Player ranking index), but I still play when I can maintaining my previous skill level.
I have also ranked top 10 in the world in colonist.io, an online platform mimicking the board game 'Settlers of Catan'
MISCELLANEOUS
Most recently, I've taken an interest in the world of fitness, with a focus on the scientific justification for improving one's health. In my spare time, I read about nutrition and health - My video guide for health for beginners: 7 Weight Loss Tips for the Average Indian during lockdown - YouTube
